Privacy statement

Last updated: 1 October 2026
This statement covers the backsoundstream.nl website and the contact that follows from it: a pre-order, a demo request or a question through the contact form. If you are already a customer, your agreement sets out the data we process for the service itself.

Who is responsible

Backsound B.V., Snelliusweg 65, 6827 DG Arnhem, the Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 99370328.
Questions about your data? E-mail info@backsound.nl or call +31 88 4259888. We reply within four weeks.

What we ask of you

Only what you fill in yourself. That is:
•
your name;
•
your company name and — if you pick your company from the search list — the Chamber of Commerce number and registered address the trade register returns with it;
•
your e-mail address;
•
your phone number;
•
your choices or your message: which package you want, whether you want the music computer shipped or installed, and any text you type yourself.

What we use it for

To contact you about your pre-order, demo or question, and to send you the confirmation e-mail. Nothing else. We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it on, and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.
The legal basis is performance of a contract or, where there is no contract yet, the steps you ask us to take at your own request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Where it goes

What you submit goes to our own server and is stored in our own database. Our office also receives an e-mail notification, and you receive a confirmation at the address you gave.
We do not involve a marketing agency, CRM integration or ad network in these forms.

The company search

When you type in the Company field, we send those letters to our own server, which queries the official Dutch Chamber of Commerce trade register. We do not keep those searches. Only the company you actually click is submitted with the form.

Google fonts

The website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. In doing so, Google sees your browser's IP address. There is also a chat window on the site; it runs on our own server (fungo.backsound.nl) and only loads once the page has loaded. What you type into it we use to help you. If you choose WhatsApp in that window, the conversation continues on WhatsApp and that service's terms apply. For visitor numbers we use Google Analytics; what that measures is set out below. There are no advertising pixels and no social media buttons on the site.
Our Google reviews are fetched by our own server, not by your browser — so nothing about you goes to Google for those.

Visitor numbers

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages they read, how they arrive and where they drop off. That is how we improve the site; we see no names or addresses in it.
Besides page views it also measures whether you scroll, click an outbound link, open a file or use the search box on this site. What you type into that search box — an artist or a track — therefore goes to Google as well. Google processes this as our processor; your IP address is truncated in the process.
If you would rather not be measured, you can block it with Google’s opt-out (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or with a blocker in your browser. The site works fine without it.

Session recordings (Microsoft Clarity)

We also use Microsoft Clarity. It records how visitors move through the pages: where they click, how far they scroll and where they drop off. That shows us which parts of the site are unclear. Whatever you type into an input field, such as your name, e-mail address or password, is masked by Clarity and not recorded. Clarity may place cookies for this (_clck and _clsk); Microsoft processes the data as our processor. Our own server notes which recording a visit belongs to, so we can replay a visit from our daily overview. If you would rather not, you can block Clarity with a blocker in your browser; the site works fine without it.

Cookies

Google Analytics places one cookie on your device to tell a returning visit from a new one. We place no advertising cookies: we measure how the site is used, we do not follow you across other websites and we do not advertise with this data.
The website remembers one thing in your own browser's storage: your language choice, under the name backsoundstream.lang. It stays on your device and is not sent anywhere. You can clear it by deleting the site data in your browser.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records which pages are requested, with IP address, time and browser type. This is needed to investigate faults and abuse. These logs are not linked to the data from a form.
For each visit we look up which network the IP address belongs to. Usually that only yields the name of an internet provider; for a company with its own fixed internet address, the name of that company. That shows us which organisations are interested in us. Our own server does this lookup in RIPE's public IP registry; no advertising or tracking company is involved. We keep the server logs for 90 days.

How long we keep it

We keep a pre-order until launch and, if you become a customer, for as long as the customer relationship lasts. A demo or contact request that does not lead to a customer relationship is deleted at the latest two years after the last contact. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will — see below.

Your rights

You can always ask us for:
•
access to what we hold about you;
•
correction of anything that is wrong;
•
erasure of your data;
•
restriction of its use;
•
a copy in a common file format;
•
objection to its use.

If we cannot resolve it together

E-mail info@backsound.nl; we would much rather sort it out ourselves. If we cannot, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Security

The website and every form use an encrypted connection (https). The data sits on servers we manage ourselves, and only staff handling your request can reach it.

Changes

If the website or what we process changes, we update this statement and change the date at the top. For significant changes we notify the people affected.
